Welcome to Blue Ridge Adventure Vehicles
Blue Ridge Adventure Vehicles (BRAV)! Is located in Fairview, North Carolina in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains about 10 minutes east of Asheville. Since 2007 Our mission has been to build custom adventure vehicles to enhance your outdoor lifestyle, using locally sourced, sustainable, and eco-friendly materials whenever possible. We’ll provide you with the highest quality of care, attention, and craftsmanship, all while honoring your budget and fulfilling your dreams of the vanlife.
Our current lead time, on full conversions, is January 2021 (deposit required). We can usually fit in smaller jobs (windows, vent fans, seats) in a timely manner.
Our services cover a wide spectrum of customizations. Each project meets our exacting standards of quality, whether it is a simple add-on or an extensive complete conversion limited only by your budget. Conversions can include a combination of exterior modifications, interior modifications, electrical, plumbing, upholstery and accessories like awnings, roof racks, ladders, and much more. There is a very long list of what we can do, and we’re always up for any and every challenge. You can see custom examples of how we’ve helped others achieve their vision by viewing our galleries.
BRAV is not limited to just outfitting for recreational vehicle purposes: We also do commercial work for universities, food and beverage distributors, and food trucks. Our skilled team is able to handle many requests and is always glad to talk with you about your organization’s needs to see how we can help you.
We offer consultation for the potential vanlifer. We'll answer any questions, look at your plans or help you with your design. Consultation can save the DIY'er a lot of frustration when it comes to choosing the right parts and understanding the proper installation. We can show you our build process, and explain our build techniques. Consultation is charged at an hourly rate of $150 (check or cash only), and a discount will be given on any parts ordered through Blue Ridge Adventure Vehicles. You can also check out local events where we are always happy to talk about van conversions.
Building with BRAV
Once you have your vehicle and have looked through our gallery at our past work, write down the names of conversions or parts that you like (this will help with a general cost estimate).
You should understand that a full conversion can take 2 - 3 months depending on parts availability, and know that the current lead time is around 2 months on full conversions.
If you’re looking for parts, make sure the vendor is listed on our price guide, we only use parts from listed vendors.
